Devries, Goodrich Win Run the Rocks 5K

The 9th Annual Run the Rocks 5K attracted over a thousand participants to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater on a sunny, warm and windy Sunday morning.  The event is hosted by the American Lung Association which raises funds to help make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by lung disease.  This year's event has raised over $55,000 and is still accepting donations.

Extreme Endurance Athlete Marshall Ulrich Completes 20th Badwater Ultramarathon

Crossing the finish line in 42 hours, 30 minutes after running the 135 miles across blazing hot Death Valley was not a record setting time for veteran ultrarunner Marshall Ulrich. A Colorado native, Ulrich is the record four-time winner of the iconic Badwater ultramarathon that starts at the Badwater basin, the lowest elevation in North America at 282 feet below sea level, and officially ends at the 8,360-foot Whitney Portal trailhead on the mountain.

Perkins, Adamowski Win Elk Meadow 10K; Earholtz, Miller Win 5K

It was a gorgeous morning in Evergreen for the Elk Meadow 5K and 10K on Saturday, the second event of the Evergreen Trail Racing Series hosted by the Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) and sponsored by the Wild Game.  The series comprises five races on challenging mountainous terrain in and around Evergreen. Distances range from a 5K to an epic half-marathon (13.1 miles) to the top of Bergen Peak (elevation 9,708), a climb of over 2,000 vertical feet.

Benson Crushes Course Record at Greenland 50K

Pristine racing conditions set the stage for the 11th Annual Greenland Trail Races.  The event featured a 50K, 25K and 8 Mile, all of which circumvented the trails within the Greenland Open Space just south of Larkspur, CO.  Over 800 participants - newbies and veterans alike - took to the dirt-packed trails under scattered clouds and temperatures in the mid 60's.

Thousands Run Annual Cherry Creek Sneak

Weather predictions came true Sunday morning for the 33rd Annual Cherry Creek Sneak.  Much like the 2014 event, cloudy skies, rain and chilly temperatures set the stage for the multiple race distances that kicked off throughout the morning.  Fortunately, the wind stayed calm and the flat and fast course proved to be an attraction for some of Colorado's top runners.

Voss, Gartman Win Rockin’ on the River 5K

Cool temperatures and even a few snowflakes set the stage for the Rockin' on the River 5K Sunday morning at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, CO.  The race is the second event in the South Suburban Parks & Recreation District’s Race Series, sponsored by Run Colorado.
