Robinson, Jamrogiewicz Win Thornton Winterfest 5K

The inaugural Winterfest 5K, part of Thornton's annual Winterfest celebration, kicked off Saturday morning under cloudy skies and chilly temperatures.  Runners and walkers were treated to a course that circumvented the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center twice, and featured a couple of decent hills and a gravel/trail section in the last mile.  After the race, participants took part in a post-race party that featured warm coffee, a smorgasbord of food, awards and a plethora of raffle prizes.

McCandless, Johansen Win Mile High United Way Turkey Trot

Cool temperatures and sunny skies greeted the 8,000+ participants of the 41st Annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot on Thursday morning.  Held at Washington Park in Denver, runners and walkers took on a 4 mile course around the park that provided a flat and fast course for all.  There was also a quarter mile Family Fun Run for kids and families.  What's more, the start and finish villages set the perfect scene for pre-Thanksgiving festivities for participants of all ages.

Petersen, Folts Win Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon; Wacker, Arendt Win USATF Colorado State Half Marathon Championships

As far as he knew, twenty-six-year-old Andy Wacker was fully prepared for this morning’s Janus Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Marathon & ½ Marathon. He was sure the race started at 8a.m. and arrived an hour early to stretch. But as he made his way to the start line, he noticed other runners rushing by in a big hurry. Very quickly, panic set in.  He wasn’t an hour early. He was seriously late, arriving with just a minute to spare before the gun went off.

Rob Krar and Emma Roca Take the Win at 32nd Annual ‘Race Across the Sky’ Leadville Trail 100 Run

August 16 and 17 marked the 32nd annual Leadville Trail 100 Run, presented by New Balance and produced by Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE: LTM). Nearly 700 runners from across the U.S. and around the world came to Leadville, Colo., to compete in the legendary ‘Race Across the Sky’ event and run 100 miles through the challenging Colorado Rockies terrain with elevations ranging from 9,200 to 12,600 feet and a total elevation climb of more than 18,000 feet.
