Patsy Pfaff on Turning 70 and Completing Her 100th Half Marathon

Patsy Pfaff of Arvada is turning 70 this month and finishing her 100th half marathon at the Summer Breeze Half Marathon in Arvada on June 25. She started being active 14 years ago and took up walking. She says she's now logged 10,000 miles and has completed races in 12 states. She often listens to audio books when she trains, if she's by herself, but loves working out with friends the most. We interviewed Patsy to find out why she loves races and what motivates her to keep going when so many her age are slowing down.

Rich and Derschang Win Flamingo Day 5K

Adam Rich and Megan Deschang won the Flamingo Day 5K on Sunday, June 5. Rich ran 16:00 over the 5K course at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver to capture the victory. Deschang cruised over the 3.1 miles in 19:15 to be the first female and fifth overall runner.

Frisco’s Bacon Burner 6K is Back

The Bacon Burner 6k is a 3.8 mile out-and-back run that will take place on a paved recreational trail on Saturday, June 18 at 9:30am at the Frisco Bay Marina. All racers will receive a commemorative Bacon Burner item. All registrants 21 and older will also receive a free beer ticket to redeem at the Frisco BBQ Challenge.

Alan Culpepper named new head coach of HOKA NAZ Elite

One of the top training groups in the U.S., HOKA NAZ Elite, has announced the hiring of two-time Olympian Alan Culpepper as their new head coach. Culpepper will take over from previous coach Ben Rosario, who will be stepping into an executive director position with the track club, focusing on content, corporate partnerships and community initiatives.

John Wayne Grit Series returns to Ridgeway this August

Outdoor enthusiasts and fans of the wild west will come together to fight cancer when the John Wayne Grit Series True Grit Half Marathon and 5K trail run returns to Ridgway, Colorado, on Saturday, Aug. 27. This unique trail run guides runners through some of the most beautiful country in the San Juan Mountains. The run is one of the key fundraisers for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
