Mark Tatum of Colorado Springs to defend title in the Dipsea Race

Mark Tatum of Colorado Springs is the defending champion in the annual Dipsea Race, the oldest trail race in the country. The 111th Dipsea will be held Sunday, June 12. Last year Mark became the first non-California runner to win the Dipsea in 35 years. He is one of 21 runners from Colorado entered in this year's Dipsea, the most of any state outside California.

Atherton, Peterson win inaugural Blue Heron Half Marathon

On a cloudy and cool morning, the Rocky Mountain Road Runners produced the first annual Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5K. Utilizing the Platte River Trail from Riverdale Regional Park in Brighton, 100 runners and walkers were treated to a flat, fast and scenic course.

Boulder’s Nell Rojas, Scott Fauble Are Top Americans at Boston Marathon

It was a Kenyan sweep at the Boston Marathon with Evan Chebet winning the men's race in 2:06:51 and Peres Jepchirchir capturing the women’s title in 2:21:01. The top Americas both have Colorado ties. Boulder's Scott Fauble, who graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and is a two-time CHSAA champion, finished seventh among the men in 2 hours, 8 minutes, 52 seconds. Boulder's Nell Rojas, who was also top American last year, came in 10th among the women at 2:25:57.

Maroon Bells Reservations Now Open

Reservations for the iconic Maroon Bells near Aspen are now available. One of Colorado's most photographed spots, the popular hiking trail will once again require a paid reservation in 2022. Parking reservations will be required during the entire season when the road opens on May 15th.
