The Chasing Santa 5K took place on Saturday, December 3rd at Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs. Instead of a traditional race shirt, all participants got a full Santa suit to wear during the race.

Many of the nation's top high school cross country runners competed at the Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships at John Hunt Park on December 3. The course is typically flat and fast, but unfortunately heavy rains made for a muddy and slow course this year. Many runners hopes of a personal best cross country 5K time were dashed due to the course conditions.

The USA Track & Field Mountain Ultra Trail (MUT) Running Council of long distance running has named the 2022 USATF MUT Runners of the Year. Several talented MUT runners received nominations*. After reviewing international and national race results, thirteen MUT executive committee members, made up of elite athletes, coaches, administrators and race directors from a dozen USATF Associations, cast ballots for this year’s awards.

Orlando will play host to the 2024 U. S. Olympic Team Trials — Marathon, USATF and the USOPC announced. Held on February 3, 2024, the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon will be the selection event for the USATF Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The top three female and male place finishers in the Olympic Trials who have met qualifying performance standards will self-select for the 2024 USATF Olympic squad.
