Carpenter Wins Twelfth Pikes Peak Marathon; Masloski Takes Women’s Race

A tried and true Pikes Peak veteran and a newbie were the champions in yesterday's Pike Peak Marathon. Matt Carpenter, 47, was victorious for the twelfth time in the race's history. In addition to his Pikes Peak Marathon victories, Carpenter has won the Pikes Peak Ascent 6 times.

Gall, Kremer Win Barr Trail Mountain Race

Former Manitou Springs resident Scott Gall won the Barr Trail Mountain Race on Saturday, July 16th. The 37-year-old took the lead at the 2-mile mark and held off Manitou Springs' Daryn Parker (1:40:24), running 1:39:02. John Tribia of Boulder finished third in 1:41:48.
