The U.S. Olympic Track Trials will begin on June 22 in Eugene, Oregon. It’s an exciting time for elite runners, who will be battling for a coveted spot on the U.S. Olympic team, and the chance of a lifetime to compete this summer in the London Games.

Exclusive Athlete Interview: Kerrie Bruxvoort

You may not have heard of Kerrie Bruxvoort before, but you will now.  This up-and-coming long-distance Colorado runner has been climbing the podium for the past couple of years, and plans to keep on climbing in the future.  She finished third overall and first female at the Mesquite Canyon 50K in Arizona in a women's course record time of 4:24.  Other notable podium finishes include 2nd place at the 2007 Creck Crest Mountain Marathon, 1st Place at the 2011 XTERRA Cheyenne Mountain Marathon and 2nd place at the 2011 Tucson Marathon.

Exclusive Athlete Interview with Megan Lund-Lizotte

Colorado Native Megan Lund-Lizotte is best known for her mountain running accolades.  This busy mom-to-be has notched two Olympic Marathon Trials on her belt, as well as three consecutive World Mountain Running Championships.  In 2007 she was ranked the #1 USA female marathoner under twenty-five years of age.

Colorado Runner recently caught up with elite distance runner Tera Moody.  This speedy 31-year old who hails from St. Charles, Illinois but now resides in the Colorado Springs and Boulder areas is not only one of the top female distance runners in Colorado, but is also a gracious, kind and energetic elite athlete balancing the difficult combination of work and play with training.

Welcome to our annual event guide! We have compiled a list of 700 running and multisport races in and around the state. The calendar begins with March and continues through December, 2012. From women’s only events to mud runs, there are a lot of new, fabulous races to try. The most popular distance on the calendar is the 5K. At 3.1 miles, it’s a good distance to attempt, whether you’re testing your speed or just getting back into shape. Koch and Wieck Take Red Hot 55K, Krar and Rentz Take 33K

Grand Junction's Kevin Koch and Greenwood Village's Sonja Wieck took home the top honors in the Moab's Red Hot 55K on Saturday, February 18th. The challenging ultra race took 200 finishers from the Gemini Bridges trail head to Poison Spider trail head over Moab's famous red rock formations. With outstanding vistas of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park and the La Sal Mountain Range, it is one of the most beautiful courses in all of Utah.

Williams, Utrata Win Valentine’s Day 5K

More than 500 runners and race-walkers braved the cold Sunday morning for the Valentine's Day 5k at Wash Park in Denver.  Temperatures hovered around a brisk 25 degrees, and while there were some snow and ice patches on the course, that didn't stop some of Colorado's fast locals from coming out and posting some impressive times.

Race Review: Yeti Chase 5K and 10K

Runners enjoyed a fairly fast 5k and a rolling 10k at Saturday's Yeti Chase, run on the scenic west side of metro Denver in Bear Creek Lake Park.
