2nd annual National High School Trail Championships a success

The 2nd Annual National High School Trail Running Championships (NHSTC) saw some fierce competition amongst some of the top high schoolers in the state. The 5+ mile course took runners up some of the tight switchbacks, lung-busting climbs and fast, single-track descents on the Salida Mountain Trails.

Amid controversy Browning, Stanley win Hardrock 100

Jeff Browning and Sabrina Stanley took first at this year’s Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run. Browning grabbed his first ever Hardrock 100 win with a time of 26:20:22. Browning’s win comes just 26 days after placing fifth at the Western States 100.

Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted 267 participants of Littleton's Firecracker 5K at Clement Park. The 4th of July festivities kicked off early with a fast race, prizes, vendor village, face painting, and Omaha Steaks Gourmet Franks and Village Inn Apple Pies.

Dauwalter wins Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run

On a hot day at the Western States 100 - where the heat reached 106 degrees at the mile-78 river crossing - winners Jim Walmsley and Courtney Dauwalter alighted fires of their own. Courtney finished in the second-fastest time ever by a woman.

Mocko, Helland Win Leadville Marathon; Willis, Amer Win Heavy Half

Warm and sunny conditions greeted hundreds of runners at the Leadville Trail Marathon and Heavy Half. Hosted on historic mining roads and trails, and hitting a high of 13,185 feet at Mosquito Pass, both races provide challenging courses and rewarding views, with a start and finish in the runner-friendly town of Leadville.
