Castle Rock Trail Festival A Great Success

The Castle Rock Trail Festival took place last weekend with a variety of race distances. Runners and walkers competed in a trail 50K, half marathon, 10k, 5k and a family adventure run. The weather cooperated with sunny skies and seasonably warm temperatures. The race was hosted by the town of Castle Rock.

Boulder’s Wacker wins USATF Half Marathon Trail Championship

Foggy skies with temperatures in the mid-50s greeted the nearly 250 runners competing in the Birkie Trail Run Festival Half Marathon, which hosted the USATF Half Marathon Trail Championships on Saturday, September 26. To comply with state and local COVID-19 guidelines, the race featured staggered starts with small groups of runners. The USA Track & Field women’s field of 19 athletes started first at 8 a.m., with the men’s USATF field of 29 following two minutes later. The remaining trail runners in the open field started in waves with up to 30 participants, each wave being released five minutes apart.
