Colfax Marathon Hosting a 5K and 10K in May

Denver's Colfax Marathon is hosting a Runner's Reunion 5K and 10K in May. The events will take place on the race's typical race weekend. Although the official Colfax Marathon weekend of races has been pushed back until October, citing COVID restrictions, runners and walkers can still get together and have a fun, active weekend by participating in the 5K, the 10K or both.

Douglas Land Conservancy Announces Permanent Protection of 2,558 acres in Douglas County

Douglas Land Conservancy increased its portfolio of conserved lands by more than 2,500 acres as the conservation easements for the Sandstone Ranch and the Schmidt property in Douglas County’s West Plum Creek valley were finalized. DLC, a non-profit land trust based in Castle Rock, worked in partnership with Douglas County on the conservation easements which will protect the open space and conservation values of the two properties.

New 6-mile bike, pedestrian trail opens in Aurora

The E-470 Public Highway Authority has announced the completion of the extension of the High Plains Trail in Aurora. The six-mile pedestrian and bicycle path runs along the west side of E-470 from Quincy Avenue to Stephen D. Hogan Parkway.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning for the the final race of the RunDenver Series - That Dam Run Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Starting and finishing near Cherry Creek High School, the race take runners along the Cherry Creek Dam Road for a flat and fast route.

Bolder Boulder Canceled Again

The organizers of the Bolder Boulder 10K road race say that COVID-19 restrictions prevent them from running the event in 2021. It’s the second year in a row that the coronavirus pandemic has led to the cancellation of the event which had taken place in Boulder on Memorial Day since the 1970s.
