Ten Questions with Alex Nichols after Winning the Mont Blanc 80K Race

Alex Nichols has been running on the Skyrunning World Circuit for a couple years now, and along with consistently placing well, he has been a dominant runner on the local trail racing scene around Colorado. In 2013 Nichols finished third overall in the European Skyrunning Sky Series and represented the U.S. at the World Mountain Running Championships in Poland, and in 2014 he won Moab’s Red Hot 55K, placed third at the competitive Speedgoat 50K, and placed third overall and led an American team to victory at Les Templiers in France.

It wasn't long ago that Coronado High School graduate (Colorado Springs) Hannah Green won the Sailin' Shoes 10K in downtown Colorado Springs. “The Runner Box” Colorado Runner of the Month: Joe Gray

Joe Gray has been racing a lot!  I counted at least six races in a four week span last month.  Included in that stretch was a first-place, new American record run at New Hampshire's steep (!) Mount Washington Road Race.  Gray, a perennial member of the U.S. Mountain Running Team, ran 58:15 up the 7.6-mile auto road, which averages a 12% grade. For that performance, Joe Gray is our June "The Runner Box" Colorado Runner of the Month.

Zach Miller rocketed to the top of ultrarunning last year, and left a cruise ship for a home base in Colorado Springs. The 5k is his favorite distance and he's run as fast as 16:41 this year, as a 39 year old.

Ultrarunner Cassie Scallon – Challenging Herself On and Off the Trail

It’s an early spring morning in Boulder, Colorado, and I’m sitting in a local coffee shop drinking a piping hot coffee and trying to warm up. Typical for Colorado in early spring, it is blizzarding out, with a cold wet snow coming down. Just the day before, however, it was sunny and 70 degrees out. The local trails had finally started to dry out from a fickle winter, and trail runners were rejoicing at finally being able to get in some solid time on the trails under warm, sunny skies.

Interview with Czech Steepler Eva Krchova

Denver's Runnin' of the Green 7k is always one of the area's biggest spring races.  Eva Krchova's name popped up at the top of the results, first in 25:19 and over a minute ahead of second place.  It wasn't a mistake, Krchova's a new elite-level runner to the area.
