Maksimow, Blair Win USATF Colorado 25K Championship at the Lead King Loop

Runners lined up for the Lead King Loop 25K and Quarry Hill Climb 12.5K on a beautiful Sunday morning in Marble, CO.  For the second year in a row, the Lead King Loop hosted the USATF Colorado 25K Championship race.

In the men’s 25K championship race, Peter Maksimow took top honors with a 1:53:53 finishing time.  Coming in second was J. Marshall Thomson in 1:54:0.  Rounding out the top three was 22-year old Casey Weaver in 2:06:51.  Fourth and fifth place belonged to Kevin Koch and Michael Barlow coming in at 2:07:34 and 2:11:06, respectively.  The Masters title went to 47-year old Robert Woernie who finished in 2:16:57.

In the women’s 25K championship race, Myriah Blair took the win in 2:22:29, with second place finisher and top master Shari Marshall coming in at 2:26:24.  Third place belonged to Jennifer Mendez in 2:31:32, and fourth and fifth place finishers Kate Kenoyer and 50-year old Lisa Mills came in at 2:33:21 and 2:42:08, respectively.
