Colorado Springs’ Chelimo wins Olympic Trials 5,000

Sprinting the best off of a slow opening pace, Paul Chelimo of Colorado Springs won the men’s 5,000-meter final at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in 13:26.82. Columbine grad Woody Kincaid also made the team in third (13:27.13).

Wheat Ridge grad Kunz wins Heptathlon at Olympic Trials

Stringing together a remarkable series of performances that added up to a 550-point lifetime best and an Olympic Trials heptathlon title, Wheat Ridge High School graduate Annie Kunz moved to No. 5 on the all-time U.S. performer list with her 6,703 point tally.
