Sean May Memorial Run
The run/walk is held to honor Sean May, a Chief Deputy District Attorney with the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office who was murdered in his backyard in 2008 when he was returning home from work.
During his seven years of service in Adams County, May served in a variety of assignments, including a rotation in the Child Victim Unit, where he pursued justice for children who had been physically and/or sexually abused. Sean served as the chief of the County Court Unit at the time he was murdered. May always stressed the importance of acting responsibly, including treating victims, the community, defendants and the courts with dignity and respect.
The annual race is organized by the 17th Judicial District Access to Justice Committee.
Proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk benefit the C. Vincent Phelps Self Help Resource Center and Access to Justice initiatives of the 17th Judicial District.
