Start your Fourth of July weekend with a bang! Join hundreds of runners and walkers at City Park for a flat, fast, and fun 5k (3.1 miles) course that welcomes all ages and abilities. The whole family is welcome so be sure to pack up the pup before you head over and don’t forget the costumes and face paint! Citizen’s race starts at 7:30 am.

Elite 5k: Don’t leave too early or you will miss the elite runners! This event is comprised of Olympic hopefuls, local heros, and elite runners, and the display of athleticism is not something to miss! Be inspired as you watch them on a spectator friendly 4-lap course around Sheldon Lake in City Park. Elite race starts at 8:30 am.

Kids 1-Mile Race: The FireKracker 5k event features a kids 1 mile race for children ages 5 to 12.  All pint-sized finishers take home a finishers medal and an official race bib! Parents are welcome to run with their children. Kids race starts after the completion of the Elite race at ~ 9:00 am.

Come join the party at the FireKracker 5k and stay for the day to enjoy all the City of Fort Collins’ holiday activities including the Independence Day Parade, City Park pool special hours, trolley rides, live music & food truck rally, and fireworks celebration.
