The Basalt Half Marathon is a fast gradual downhill race on a scenic 2 lane road along the Frying pan river. This race is a fundraiser for the Basalt High school cross country team and has been going since 1976. Runners will be bused to the start line and run to the finish line at Basalt Middle School. All entrants receive a t-shirt and age group winners will receive an award.

Beautiful course on a paved road gently descending down the Frying Pan River road into Basalt. Runners are bussed to the start,

4 aid stations along the way. The event is a fundraiser for the local high school cross country team. The field averages around 100 runners, each finisher receives a medal as well as a participation t-shirt.
