Colorado’s Jenny Simpson Looks to the Future

After she placed tenth in her marquee event, the 1500 meters, in June at the 2021 Olympic Track & Field Trials, Jenny Simpson wasn’t sure what would come next. Up until this year, she had never failed to make a U.S. team, in 14 years of competing.

Grizzly Creek Trail closed

The Grizzly Creek Trail and Grizzly Creek Canyon are closed. The closure is due to significant damage from debris flows that closed a section of Interstate 70 for several days and severely damaged the Hanging Lake trail following mudslides in late July.

Bill Introduced to complete the Continental Divide Trail in Colorado

With more than 160 miles of its route unfinished, the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail has never been completed, causing hikers to take roads to connect to the next portion of the trail. The Continental Divide Trail Completion Act — introduced by U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Boulder, in Congress — would direct the U.S. Forest Service to complete the trail before its 50th anniversary in 2028.
