Mockeridge, Chyr Win Colfax Marathon

Yesterday's Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon was a competitive edition of this event. Winners Nicholas Mockeridge (2:34:27) and Nicole Chyr (2:59:01) ran to victory in cool, rainy weather. Erik Grumstrup (2:37:48) and Pat Sullivan (2:40:57) were second and third males. Amy Smith (3:10:24) and Yasuyo Kiano (3:16:26) rounded out the top three females.

Colorado Runner’s Own Connilee Walter Wins Colorado Marathon

Colorado Runner web editor Connilee Walter (of Colorado Springs) won the women's race at Sunday's Colorado Marathon in Fort Collins. Her winning time of 3:03:20 was a minute and a half faster then the runner up, Connie Nielsen of Omaha. Macy Latter, 30, of Fort Collins was third in 3:08:41.

Issue 47 (May/June 2011)

I recently ran the Publix Georgia Marathon in Atlanta. In my decade-long quest to run a marathon in every state, Georgia marked number 37 for me. It was also my first marathon after a two year hiatus. I ran quite slowly compared to my finishing times from a few years ago (3:48), but I’m hoping to quickly get back in shape this spring. Why? So that I can run a Boston Marathon Qualifier for 2012, of course.
