Colorado Veterans Project (CVP), one of the largest veteran-related nonprofits in Colorado, has announced that its sixth annual Freedom 4-Miler, presented by Charles Schwab, will be held at the Charles Schwab Campus, located at 9800 Schwab Way, Lone Tree, CO 80124, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 8.

“We’re thrilled to host this year’s Freedom 4-Miler, presented by Charles Schwab, and rally the community to support our Colorado veterans in a fun and exciting way,” said Todd Youngblood, board president of CVP. “We can’t think of a better way to share patriotism and extend Independence Day celebrations while supporting a great cause.”

The Freedom 4-Miler offers a ridiculously patriotic 1-mile “fun run” and 4-mile race that provide an opportunity for civilians, veterans and uniformed military to showcase patriotism and raise funds for veteran organizations across the state. Presented by Charles Schwab, a corporation that provides brokerage, banking and financial advisory services, the event also incorporates a patriotic costume contest and a post-event festival with local vendors and veteran organizations. All proceeds from the Freedom 4-Miler will go directly to helping veterans and veteran organizations in Colorado.

“We’re honored to continue to support Colorado Veterans Project’s annual Freedom 4-Miler this year and to help raise funds for our local veterans and veteran-related organizations,” said Demetra Sullivan, regional market executive at Charles Schwab. “Colorado Veterans Project is an amazing organization and we’re proud to support their cause.”

Registration for the Freedom 4-Miler is open now and participants may register for the 1-mile “fun run” for $30 or the 4-mile run for $40. Everyone who completes the run will receive a T-shirt, finisher’s medal and a custom race bib. Participants may pick up their packets prior to the race from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Virtual participants can register for the 1-mile “fun run” for $45 or the 4-mile run for $50, which can be completed between Thursday, June 1 and Tuesday, July 4, with routes and time details recorded through RunSignUp.com. Awards will be given to top finishers, who will be announced following the close of the virtual run.

CVP encourages participants to showcase their patriotic run attire in a costume contest to win a cash prize. To be entered in the costume contest, wear your most patriotic apparel and fill out the required information at the event. Entries can also be completed by posting run photos online, using the hashtag #Freedom4Miler and tagging @ColoradoVeteransProject on Facebook; @colorado_veterans_project on Instagram; @COVetsProject on Twitter; or by emailing photos to [email protected].

More information on registration and the event can be found at freedomfourmiler.com and donations to CVP can be made at coloradoveteransproject.org. CVP is actively seeking additional sponsors for the event, with more information available at freedomfourmiler.com/get-involved/#sponsor.
