The legendary Life Time Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by La Sportiva made its highly anticipated return to Leadville this weekend for its 42nd year. Event owner and producer, Life Time (NYSE: LTH) hosted a field of more than 700 runners ranging in age from 18 to 73, representing 47 states and 12 countries.

The world-renowned course tests athletes with over 15,000 feet of net elevation gain across 100 miles, reaching its highest point at nearly 12,500 feet at Hope Pass, which is located between miles 43 and 57. Competitors toed the starting line at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 with the ambitious goal of conquering the “Race Across the Sky” in under 30 hours to earn the legendary Leadville 100 belt buckle.

Finishing in a time of 15:12:30, David Roche took home first place overall, beating the course record he had previously set in 2024 by more than 11 minutes. He clocked an average pace of 9:07 per mile to set his record-breaking time.

In her 100-mile debut, Anne Flower finished in a time of 17:58:19, coming in first place for the women’s race and second overall. She shattered a 31-year-old women’s course record that had been set by Ann Trason (18:06:24) in 1994. Not only did Flower win the 100-mile “Race Across the Sky,” but she also took first place in the 2025 Leadville Trail Marathon and Silver Rush 50.

92 runners earned the prestigious large belt buckle for finishing under 25 hours, while 288 received the small belt buckle for crossing the finish line within the 30-hour cutoff. The 380 finishers yielded a 53% finisher rate. Highlights of the weekend include:

  • In addition to Flower’s record finish, five of the top 15 overall finishers were female.
  • The Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation’s DreamChaser, Rodrigo Jimenez, started two and a half hours after the rest of the runners and raised money for each person he passed. Rodrigo passed 603 runners and raised nearly $82,000.
  • 43 athletes completed the Lead Challenge, having competed in five of the Leadville Race Series’ most demanding events over the course of the summer. This includes both the 100-mile run and bike in the course of a week.
  • Eric Pence, completed his 30th Leadville Trail 100 Run, becoming the second person ever to receive a belt buckle honoring his 3,000 miles in Leadville.
  • 35 of the weekend’s participants included Life Time Foundation Athletes. Foundation Athletes participate in a selection of Life Time’s most iconic athletic events while fundraising to support the Life Time Foundation’s mission to support healthy planet, along with youth nutrition and movement initiatives.
