The 2026 Colorado High School Activities Association’s Girls Track and Field State Championship began Thursday at Jeffco Stadium. Throughout the first day, 16 individual champions were crowned across the five classifications, in addition to four relay champions.
Along the way, two state meet records fell, as Roosevelt’s Braelyn Bailey took down her own 4A state meet record in the high jump, clearing 5-10 to break her winning mark of 5-9 from a year ago. The 12-year-old 3A state meet record in the discus was also broken, with Manitou Springs’ Mackinzy Wall throwing 147-09 to better the previous mark of 143-09, set by The Classical Academy’s Hannah Carr in 2014.
Additional individual champions will be awarded tomorrow with all team champions being named Saturday.
