Running USA, the premier trade organization for the road race industry, recently released its list of the 100 Largest Road Races in the United States for 2025, with the BOLDERBoulder ranking as the third-largest race in the country and the largest 10K in the United States. The BOLDERBoulder 10K, named America’s All-Time Best 10K by Runner’s World, continues to stand as one of the most iconic and celebrated road races in the world. In 2025, 45,142 finishers crossed the iconic finish line inside Folsom Field on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The total places the BOLDERBoulder among the most participated road races nationwide and solidifies its standing as one of the premier mass-participation events in the sport.
Only two events finished ahead of the BOLDERBoulder on the 2025 list: the TCS New York City Marathon and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, making the BOLDERBoulder the largest race in the western United States.

Each Memorial Day, we come together as a community to celebrate movement, honor service, and create lifelong memories for tens of thousands of people. From first-time participants to world-class athletes, everyone who steps onto the course is part of something special, and that shared experience is what continues to inspire us year after year.”
The 2025 BOLDERBoulder, welcomed participants of all abilities to run, jog, or walk at their own pace. Along the course, participants were entertained by oZicial musical acts and spectator-created fun zones, culminating in the signature finish inside Folsom Field. The event concluded with the International Team Challenge and one of the nation’s largest Memorial Day tributes, honoring the American service members who have fallen in defense of the United States.
2025 Race Highlights
The 2025 edition of the BOLDERBoulder delivered standout performances, depth of competition, and broad participation across all divisions:

  • 964 runners broke 40:00, the most of any race in the United States and the fourth-largest total worldwide
  • Conner Mantz captured his third consecutive BOLDERBoulder title
  • Grace Nawowuna set a new women’s event record, lowering the mark by 22 seconds with a time of 31:51
  • Multi-time Paralympic medalist Daniel Romanchuk won the men’s wheelchair race
  • Miss Peggy, a 100-year-old University of Colorado superfan, joined Rick George, University of Colorado Athletic Director, as the official race starters
  • Participants from all 50 U.S. states and 23 countries took part in the event
  • 183 individuals earned single-year age champion recognition
  • 204 individuals added their name to the BB10K single-age all-time list
  • 13 runners set single-age race records
