There was more thrilling cross action happening around the nation this past weekend down in Huntsville, Alabama, as the 2025 RunningLane XC Championships were being contested. Find all the Colorado highlights below!
Colorado Boys: Leading the charge for the Colorado contingent was Cheyenne Mountain’s standout senior, Aiden Le Roux. After battling an injury this year, it was great to see Aiden back in action, placing 4th overall in the Gold Division in a strong time of 14:56.61. Just behind him was sophomore Ben Olds of Palmer Ridge High School, finishing 7th overall and clocking 15:00.91. Both of these runners earned RunningLane All-American honors.
Other Colorado runners that placed in the top 50 were Cooper Draves of Boulder High School, who ran 15:24.90 (37th) and Lukas Remeikis of Summit High School, who ran 15:27.80 (48th). On the team side, Cooper Draves led the Boulder High School boys to a 3rd place team finish, Palmer Ridge High School placed 18th and Central Grand Junction High School finished 21st respectively.
Colorado Girls: On the ladies side, we saw some strong performances. The first Coloradan to cross was Nora Ebel of Rocky Mountain High School in 17th in a time of 17:40.05. Claire Guiberson led the Mountain Vista girls with a 17:40.35 finishing time. Teammates Addison Baker (45th) clocked in at 18:11.16, and Sarah Maple (47th) in 18:13.49.
On the team side the Mountain Vista Girls team claimed the title as team champions with a score of 47 points. Among the Colorado schools, the Palmer Ridge Girls finished a strong 6th, led by freshman Addison Michalak in 18:39.08. Rounding out the team scores were the ladies of Central Grand Junction placing 21st.
