We are back with another sophomore for our future stars series. This week we are highlighting Micah Sulzen of Rock Canyon High School.
So far this season, Sulzen has ran consistently under 16 minutes for the 5k. His best time came from Liberty Bell, where he ran a time of 15:16 and placed 21st overall. In all of his other 5k races, Sulzen has finished in the top 10 including a 9th place finish at Cheyenne Mountain Stampede where he ran 15:40, 4th at Cherry Creek in a time of 15:24, and most recently 5th at the Pat Patten Invitational in a time of 15:39.
During the track season of his freshman year, Sulzen put together an impressive list of PRs as well. He may have only ran the 800 meters once, but almost broke two minutes running a time of 2:01! Then he went on to run 4:30 for the 1600m and 9:42 for the 3200m all in his first year of high school track.
