Keeghan Edwards continued her rise as one of the nation’s top high school distance runners with a fourth-place finish in the girls’ 2-mile at the Arcadia Invitational, clocking a personal-best 10:05 in one of the most competitive fields of the season.

The Colorado standout, who has also posted strong national performances at NXN and New Balance Nationals, credits much of her success to an unconventional training strategy that prioritizes recovery, cross training and data over high mileage.

Edwards trains with the reigning NXN national champion Mountain Vista cross country team, where a competitive culture and strong coaching have helped her stay sharp and accountable. While 60% of her training is running-based, the remaining 40% comes from cross training, guided by COROS performance metrics and heart rate data to match effort and avoid overtraining.
