Excited family members and thousands from Boulder and beyond gathered at Folsom Field on Monday to welcome and congratulate finishers of the 43rd Bolder Boulder.

What began as a small race in 1979 has blossomed into the huge event attracting thousands from Boulder and across the nation. The COVID-19 pandemic canceled the event in 2020 and reduced it to a multisite adventure the next year. But now, two years later, the race is back in full swing.

Vendors from throughout Colorado gathered to celebrate along with bands playing live music. Runners and their families gathered at the finish line at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field, where they were met with applause and cheers for finishing the 10-kilometer race.

A live pep band gathered outside the field to welcome in the racers. Playing hits such as “Dynamite” and other classics, their bright sound encouraged the racers in the final stretch during a sunny morning. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, with supporters eagerly looking for and pointing out their loved ones down in the race.
