USATF Hosts Awards Ceremony; Melody Fairchild Keynote Speaker

USATF Colorado will hold its inaugural annual Awards Celebration on Satuday, January 29 to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Colorado athletes, officials, and administrators in 2021.  The celebration will be held at the Denver Athletic Club. 

Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Athlete of the Year Awards

Youth
Open Track & Field 
Masters Track & Field 
Race Walking
Long Distance Running 
Long Distance Running – Mountain Ultra Trail

Other award categories: Officials and President awards

Colorado’s Melody Fairchild will provide the keynote welcome. Fairchild is considered one of the nation’s all-time best high school runners. She won two Kinney national cross country titles and was the first high school female to break 10 minutes for 2 miles.  After high school, she went on to earn many world-class level achievements, including a bronze medal at the World Cross Country Championships. Now, Melody is a top master’s runner, inspiring coach of youth athletes, author, and motivational speaker. Through her vast experiences Melody knows the proper balance needed for positive youth running and will share that with the audience.

Award winners will be notified by January 10.  Tickets to attend the event will be available for purchase on or before January 15.
