Colfax Marathon officially cancelled for 2020

Yesterday, the Colfax Marathon officially cancelled the 2020 event. They had been hoping to reschedule the May event into the fall, but were unable to finalize a plan for that to happen.

Below is a quote from the event website:

We are extremely disappointed to announce we will not be able to reschedule the Denver Colfax Marathon for the fall of 2020. COVID-19 has changed all of our lives and has put a stop to mass gatherings. With the newest Colorado Safer at Home guidelines we know that a safe, fun, robust race weekend this year won’t be possible. We looked at many options along the way, but we now know we need to shift our focus to 2021. Therefore, we are moving our 15th Anniversary Denver Colfax Marathon Race Weekend and Celebration to May of 2021.

Although we are a 501c3 (nonprofit), we have chosen to override our no-deferral policy in light of COVID-19, so that current registered runners could have three free options.

Individual runners and team captains have until June 30, 2020 to choose an option.

3 FREE OPTIONS

1. Defer to 2021 – The 15th Anniversary Denver Colfax Marathon Weekend is now May 15-16, 2021

2. Defer to 2022 – May 14-15, 2022

3. Run virtually for newly created Colfax virtual schwag
