Leadville Announces 100,000′ Challenge

Introducing the Leadville 100,000 FT Challenge — a virtual climbing challenge that participants can complete on foot or by bike (or both) throughout the summer with 100% of proceeds from the event benefiting the Life Time Foundations’ local efforts in Leadville, funding the Lake County Public School’s COVID-19 Food Relief Program.

The running 100,000 FT challenge will be kicking off this Saturday, June 13th, giving runners 10 weeks to complete the challenge. Running through the originally scheduled Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by La Sportiva date, Saturday, August 22nd, 2020. 

Riders will start Saturday, June 27th and have 8 weeks to complete 100,000 ft and will end on the originally scheduled Stages Cycling Leadville Trail 100 MTB date, Saturday, August 15th, 2020. There is also a 2-Person Relay option for both Ride and Run, in which combined, a pair works to completely 100K vert together. 

Lastly, for the duathletes out there, the 200,000 Club. A 10 week long challenge starting Saturday, June 13th to Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 where participants must complete 100k or both running and cycling.

Registration will be through RunSignUp and is now open. Throughout the challenge you will track your elevation using RunSignUp, where you can view your progress on a leaderboard and Life Time encourages people to join the challenge Facebook Group to help build community conversation and maybe some healthy competition. 

There will be additional fun merits and challenges throughout the summer including most climbing in a day, fastest and slowest to complete the challenge, most creative elevation gain and more.
