Remsen, Kremer Win Vasque Golden Leaf Half

 Aspen, CO – On Saturday, September 24  over 1000 runners from all over Colorado,  28 other states across the US came to Aspen, Colorado to participate in the much anticipated Annual Vasque Golden Leaf Half Marathon.  Chosen by Trail Runner Magazine as one of “America’s 14 Most Scenic Races” and voted by Colorado Runner Magazine as 2008’s “Best Half Marathon” the Golden Leaf
is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies.

In the height of the beautiful fall colors of Colorado, reds, greens, and the famous gold’s of the Aspen Trees guide runners on this challenging course from Snowmass to Aspen.

The race began at 8:30am with over 1000 registered participants.

The first male finisher, Karl Remsen from Leadville, completed the race in an amazing 1:25:12.7. Stevie Kremer from Crested Butte defended her title as women’s champion in a time of 1:43:51.
