SUMMARY:Pikes Peak Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Pikes Peak Marathon\, founded in 1956\, is the oldest continually held marathon in the United States\, taking runners from Manitou Springs\, Colorado\, to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14\,115 feet\, and back down for a total of 26.2 grueling mountain miles. It and its sister race\, the Pikes Peak Ascent\, each climb about 7\,800 vertical feet up the historic Barr Trail on the east face of the mountain. The Ascent\, which climbs 13.3 miles to finish at the summit\, used to be held on the same day as the Marathon but became its own event in the 1980s due to its popularity.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Oktoberfest Triathlon on Saturday September 24th\, 2022\,  is the party of the season and also a 2022 Mountain Collegiate Conference Race!  As the leaves change color this race will officially end the Colorado Triathlon Season!  It’s been a long fun season but before the snow begins to fall let’s get one more triathlon celebration in.   \nNEW: Stand-up Paddleboard Category in 2022 \nThe Oktoberfest Triathlon is about friends and teammates\, smiling and cheering.  Men’s or woman’s cut technical t-shirts are back.  Great goodie bags\, one of our biggest expos of the year\, a ton of raffles\, and a closed race course are just some of the highlights.  This race is capped at 600 athletes to maintain a fun\, yet lively\, and laid back feel.  Due to the low cap we’ve sold out the past 10 years so be be sure to take advantage of early registration.  Every year we pick a different Lander (province) in Germany as a theme for the event t-shirts!  2019 theme was Brandenburg (Red)\, 2021 was Hessen\, and 2022 will be Saar-Land!

Since 1981\, serious racers and weekend warriors alike have been coming to Wheat Ridge High School to run the Farmers 5000! The Farmers 5000 continues to raise money to support school programs while promoting physical fitness and community spirit.
