Nearly 1,200 runners and walkers took to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail for the annual Super Half Marathon and Game Day 5K. This event is a fundraiser for the Pikes Peak Road Runners and PikesPeakSports.us, organizations that work to promote running, racing and healthy living in Colorado Springs.
This year, Stephen VanGampleare of Colorado Springs led 542 people to the finish line of the half marathon in 1:11:50. Kali Cavey of Denver led the female division in 1:23:57.
In the Game Day 5K, 13-year-old Aiden Le Roux led just over 600 athletes to the finish line in 16:57. Jade Allen just dipped under the 20 minute mark, leading the ladies in 19:59 and finishing fourth overall.
