Race Preview: Greenland Trail Races this Weekend

The 17th Annual Greenland Trail Races are scheduled for May 8 and May 9 in Larkspur, Colorado at the Greenland Open Space Park in southern Douglas County. The start of the event is south of Castle Rock, just off I-25. More details can be found online at www.greenland50k.com.

The race is offering in person running and walking options, as well as a virtual option. The event is following all local and state health guidelines. The racee will use increased cleaning protocols, participant caps, and more to follow local health guidelines for safety. The race is also being split into two days to keep runners more socially distant. The 25K and 50K will be held on Saturday, May 8. The 4 and 8 mile runs will be held on Sunday, May 9.  

The Greenland 50K is celebrating 17 years of trail running at Greenland Open Space. In addition to enjoying a wide dirt trail race that travels Colorado’s Front Range Trail, runners and walkers will receive a technical running shirt in both men’s and women’s sizing, a finisher’s medal for 25k, 8 mile and 4 mile runners, a belt buckle for 50K runners, and chip timing.

The trail running festival benefits the Douglas Land Conservancy. The Douglas Land Conservancy is a non-profit land trust dedicated to the protection and conservation of the natural character, habitat, and open space of the central Front Range region of Colorado, including Douglas County and surrounding areas.
