Eclectic Edge Racing returning to Colorado

160

Eclectic Edge Racing originated in Colorado in 1988 when William Wyckoff expanded his passion for running and racing to include producing trail races throughout the Rocky Mountains. Over the years the race production company evolved into a complete racing experience that includes timing, announcing and a celebratory atmosphere that give all participants a complete racing experience. Eclectic Edge has had the privilege to be part of over 3000 events. In 2006, William relocated to Oregon, where he and his team began to grow Eclectic Edge Racing into a timing/announcing company providing services for close to 200 events per year. Eclectic Edge Racing is making a return to Colorado, expanding back to where it all began in the Rocky Mountains, while keeping the operations in the Pacific Northwest intact.

In 2007, Eclectic Edge Racing transitioned to RFID chip timing for all types of sporting events which include running, walking, cycling, cross country, triathlons, Nordic skiing, snowshoe and more. Eclectic Edge Racing now offers a unique re-usable bib-chip technology, which provides state of the art technology and results at an affordable rate, while being environmentally conscious. To date, Eclectic Edge Racing has timed 2600 events that include such races as:

  • 11 Oregon State XC Championships
  • 4 NAIA National Championships
  • 1 Olympic Trials
  • 1 IAAF World Championship Trials
  • 4 USATF National XC Championships
  • Hood to Coast Relay Race Series
  • Road races of 6000 participants
  • Triathlons of 500 plus
  • 14 Butte to Butte 4th of July race of 5000+ racers

With immediate online results posting and personalized results tickets for each participant, the Eclectic Edge experience is about celebrating people and their accomplishments in the moment. While timing is a key component of Eclectic Edge Racing, they also have a long history of exceptional event announcing, which is typically paired with their timing services. Eclectic Edge announcers professionally celebrate all participants at events, while covering logistics and recognizing sponsors. All Eclectic Edge race vans come equipped with built in sound systems – speakers, cordless microphones, amplifiers, the works. In 2011, William and his team began transitioning to operating out of re-configured step vans, creating a mobile office with all of the necessary timing and announcing equipment permanently installed, making operations much more professional and efficient. The Eclectic fleet has since expanded to 6 step vans and 5 cargo vans, which serve multiple events on a given day.
