Less Than Two Weeks Until Parker’s Labor Day Half Marathon, 10K and 5K September 7

95

There are just two weeks left until Labor Day! That means you only have two weeks left to train for the in-person Labor Day Half Marathon, 10k and 5k on September 7. The race features a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K. The race will be held at Parker’s Salisbury Park, and the courses will travel along the banks of the Cherry Creek. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. The flat, fast course will help propel you to a new personal best time!

Athletes not ready to participate in the in-person event can also choose to sign up for the virtual option, which includes mailing a shirt, bib and medal.

All participants will receive a finisher’s medal, a technical running shirt in men’s and women’s sizing, professional chip timing, and aid stations with water and Gatorade. Gels will be available on course for half marathon runners. Free photo downloads will be available to everyone after the race.

The half marathon will have an early start time of 6:30 a.m. to avoid the hot summer sun. Runners will start in a time-trial format, rather than a mass start, with one runner at a time, starting with the fastest runner and ending with the slowest walker. This is to spread out participants for social distancing and with a cap of 250 athletes. Participants in the 10K will head out in the same way at 7:30 a.m. and then the 5K at 8:30 a.m. There will also be increased cleaning protocols to follow Tri County Health guidelines.

Gift certificate awards from RNK Running and Walking, Parker’s specialty running store, will be awarded to the top three age group winners in every distance and they will be available for pick up at the store for up to two weeks after the race.

There will also be a packet pickup in the days leading up to the event at RNK Running and Walking.

Registration is now open. The race welcomes both runners and walkers. For more information, log onto www.coloradorunnerevents.com.
