On a beautiful morning at Denver’s Sloan’s Lake, nearly 700 runners and walker took to the bike path around the lake for the third annual Denver 5K, hosted by 3W Races.
Split into two waves (an elite wave at 9:00 AM and an open wave at 9:30 AM), runners took off from a large vendor village and proceeded to circumnavigate the lake clockwise before returning to the finish line.
Jackson Friesth of Louisville cruised to victory in a blistering time of 15:34. He was followed by Tristan Santos of Englewood (16:20) and Conrad Carbaugh-Duarte (16:48). Scott Delmoro of Denver took top master’s honors running 19:35.
For the ladies, Adrieene Barry flocked a very fast 17:18 to take the win, finishing fifth overall. Mackenzie Gray (18:42) and Courtney Nicoletti (20:07) rounded out the podium. Jayne Brindle of Golden took top honors for the masters runners, crossing the line in 20:47.
