TransRockies Run 2015: It’s Nearly Go Time


Excitement is abound in the town of Buena Vista, Colorado with the anticipation for tomorrow’s start of the 9th annual TransRockies Run.

This year’s field will consist of runners from 21 countries and 36 states from the U.S. with more than 60% of the field first time TransRockies Runners.

All those tough hilly sessions, long runs and grueling prep races are in the bag and all runners are ready to put that hard work to use through the mountainous trails of Colorado.

It will be a bright and early start at 8:30AM tomorrow morning for the 20.9 mile Stage 1 and 2,500 ft of elevation gain to warm up the legs for the coming stages with an eventual finish of Stage 6 at Beaver Creek.

With this year’s event creating a huge buzz, there is already a mini frenzy about next year’s 2016 10th Year Anniversary as some of our Alumni runners have already laid claim to a slot by taking up their Early Bird Entry with the 100 Alumni Spots selling out in Just 4 days.

Entries to the general public Open the after this year’s race on August 17th at 9:00AM Sharp.

The Opening Ceremony and Race Briefing held on the banks of the Arkansas River this evening was a great start to the proceedings with the camaraderie among runners as strong as ever for which this event is so famous.

Rob Kar – Most recent and last year’s winner of Western States 100 and Leadville 100 2014 winner, will run with partner Mike Smith. (Run 6 Team Men)

Jenn Shelton, Numerous Ultra and 100 Mile race winner and past holder of fastest ladies 100 Mile record holder with partner Kathryn Ross. (Run 6 Team Women)

Michelle Barton/Mario Snick – Michelle won in the inaugural year 2007 on mixed and has been on the podium numerous times since then and seven time finisher. (Mixed Team)

Sara Wagner/Caleb Schiff – Strong Flagstaff based mixed team – Sara was 2011 mixed team winner with Eric Bohn, 2nd open woman in 2013 (Run 6 Team Mixed)

Jonathan Toker – Defending 2014 Champion (Run 6 Solo Men)
