VIP Guests To Attentd The Children's Hospital TTTS Race For Hope In Denver
Denver, CO (Oct 30, 2008) - In its 5th year of existence, The Children's Hospital's TTTS Race for Hope, one of the largest races in its National Race Series, will host VIP guests from the Denver Broncos and a former Mr. America.
The TTTS Race for Hope is different from other 5k events, not only for its cause, but also by featuring one of the largest post-race expos, including special guests such as sports players, celebrities, and even costumed characters for the children. This year's Denver event will welcome McDonald, former Mr. America, Tom Terwilliger, and Denver Bronco players, Bill Harris and Dave Studdard.
"We are grateful to local celebrities and organizations such as Pro Players Association, who every year work in support of the Fetal Hope Foundation's events, such as this year's Children's Hospital's TTTS Race for Hope," said Lonnie Somers, CEO and Founder of the Fetal Hope Foundation and Denver Race Director.
As part of the post-race expo, both Harris and Studdard will be available to sign autographs. Playing as a former Running Back, Punter, Kick Return, Defensive Back and Special Teams player, Harris played for the Falcons, the Vikings, and the Saints, and completed his football career playing with the Denver Broncos in 1972. Studdard, a former Offensive Tackle/Guard, joined the Broncos in 1979, where he was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team. He was influential in the Broncos' Super Bowl appearances in 1986 and 1987, and played with Denver until 1988. The athletes join The Children's Hospital's TTTS Race for Hope on behalf of Pro Players Association, a Board on which Studdard currently serves.
Similarly, former Mr. America and current Life Coach, Terwilliger, will serve as co-emcee for the event. Though Terwillger's passion for a healthy lifestyle draws him to the event, he has direct interest in the cause, as he is an identical twin and knows the severity of the event's namesake distress, Twin-to- Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS).
Somers said, "Harris, Studdard and Terwilliger have been involved with us for most of the event's history. They have taken our cause and mission and helped us draw in more people with their presence, and have expanded awareness of our organization and its cause. They all are very personable and our participants love having their involvement and support of our organization."
As does each race part of the National Race Series, The Children's Hospital's TTTS Race for Hope will feature the 5k and free FUZE Kids Fun Run, and will feature the NOMOTC Family Festival with a host of sponsors and vendors for the entire family.
