    "Colorado's toughest 6-mile road race". The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is the ultimate destination for runners and walkers participating in the 33rd Annual Black Canyon Ascent. The paved, scenic course starts 7 miles east of Montrose, CO at the junction of CO Hwy 347 and US Hwy 550, and steadily climbs almost 2,000' up to the National Park.   • Rocky Mountain Half Marathon & Women's 8K

    The Rocky Mountain Half-Marathon was established to provide an enjoyable running event for the Rocky Mountain region. Runners of all speeds and abilities will race through Denver, enjoying a uniquely challenging altitude long distance run. The spirit of inclusive participation is the driving factor in the Women's 8K. We have created a unique race format that encourages veteran and novice runners alike to come out and run a great course on a beautiful summer morning.

  • Mt. Evans Ascent
    21 June 2008 (Idaho Springs, CO) - 8:00 AM

    Although the air will be noticeably thin at the starting line, Echo Lake's 10,600 feet of elevation is just the beginning. The climb totals nearly 4,000 vertical feet - much of it above treeline - as you make your way 14.5 miles to the finish line located at the summit of one of the most recognizable peaks on Denver's mountain skyline - 14,264 foot Mt. Evans. Be inspired!!! Spectators will include Bighorn Sheep, Marmots, and Mountain Goats - maybe even a few people!!!

  • Donor Dash 5K
    13 July 2008 (Denver, CO) - 8:00 AM

    Donor Alliance's signature event, the 9th Annual Donor Dash is for runners, walkers and the entire family to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of organ and tissue recipients and recognize those waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Donor Dash will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2008 in Denver's historic Washington Park. Participants are invited to honor a loved one by listing their name on the back of the Donor Dash 2008 T-shirt or through the Donate Life Garden. For more information, visit DonorAlliance.org.   • Wild West Relay
    1 August 2008 (Ft. Collins to Steamboat Springs, CO) - 5:30 AM

    The Wild West Relay is a 195-mile team distance running relay race in Colorado designed for runners of all abilities. This Colorado relay race begins by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, and finishes in the beautiful ski and summer resort town of Steamboat Springs. Held on open public roads, much of this very scenic and remote course runs through National Forests or on dirt roads. The route winds through Roosevelt, Medicine Bow, and Routt National Forests, and through small, mountain and ranching communities. For 6 and 12-person teams.

  • Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon
    12 August 2008 (Idaho Springs, CO) - 8:00 AM

    Because of it's location, this Half Marathon is one of the most pleasurable runs in the western United States. It runs along Clear Creek and is a scenic and gently rolling mountain course that winds down the Clear Creek Valley. The course lies along the Frontage Road running parallel to, but well away from I-70. Vehicular traffic on the course is minimal. Be aware however, that the road is not closed. Runners must stay to the right side of the middle of the road.

  • Park City Marathon
    23 August 2008 (Park CIty, UT) - 6:30 AM

    This scenic and challenging Alpine loop course features quiet residential streets, smooth gravel trails and paved bike trails as it passes historic silver-mining era Old Town and McMansions alike, ski resorts and Olympic venues. The final eight miles is largely downhill! The half marathon is an out and back design with varied terrain and a downhill return. All competitors receive a handmade glass suncatcher medal and performance shirt. Both races are capped at 500 each, providing personal attention along the way.
