On a perfect morning for running, nearly 3,000 participant gathered in Fort Collins for the annual Colorado Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.

686 people finished thier marathon trek down the Poudre Canyon. Leading the way was Brian Scott of Naperville, IL. Scott's winning time of 2:31:33 was three minutes faster than second place. 24 runners dipped under the three hour barrier, the most in race history. Former course record holder Mercedes Gil of Fort Collins was the first female, running 3:01:01.

In the half marathon, Scott Folkerts of Fort Collins edged out a two second victory over John Nichols of Denver, 1:10:53 to 1:10:55. Danielle Korb of Fort Collins was unchallenged in the women's division, winning by over six minutes in 1:16:55. There were 1079 finishers in the half marathon.

Brice Young of Boulder (34:03) and Molly Palmer of Colorado Springs (40:39) led 445 runners across the 10K finish while Chris Stover of the USAFA (18:04) and Tina Stoner of Laporte (22:27) led 181 runners to the 5K finish line.

Travis Daniels of Denver (6th, 2:43:02), Ryan Donovan of Fort Collins (2nd, 2:34:42), Mark Mulholland of Westminster (4th, 2:41:46) and Bill Michel of Loveland (5th, 2:42:59) (L to R) all run together near the five mile mark of the marathon.

Half Marathon winner Steve Folkerts of Fort Collins (1306) runs with Robert Coslick of Broomfield at the three mile mark. Folkerts would pull away to catch front running John Nichols of Denver for a two second victory - 1:10:53 to 1:10:55. Coslick was thrid in 1:13:55.

Danielle Korb of Fort Collins finished fifth overall in winning the female crown in the half marathon. Her winning time was 1:16:55.

Brice Young of Boulder won the 10K in 34:03.

Molly Palmer of Colorado Springs was the first female in the 10K, running 40:39.
