The AIR Foundation uses endurance running to fight homelessness and addiction. Through Activity Inspired Rehabilitation, we are taking people off the streets and empowering them to live a life of lasting health and self-sufficiency. The AIR Foundation story began with a father and son, Nick and Shane Sterner. Nick had run two marathons in 2006 as he and Shane completed the New Life Program at the Denver Rescue Mission. Regular group runs Wednesday night runs – we will meet every Wednesday night at 5:15 pm outside Exerflex Gym (on Palmer St. Near highway 50 in Salida) for a group run, through October 28th. Tuesday Afternoon Speed Workouts – meeting every Tuesday at 12:15 pm (just after noon) at the F Street bridge in Salida. Denver’s GLBT running/walking group Saturday morning walk/run Denver Frontrunners meets every Saturday morning at 9:15 am (gay time), in front of the Moore Elementary school at 9th Avenue, between Downing and Corona Streets, across the street from the King Soopers market. Walkers tour the Cheesman Park area, catching views of the Front Range. The Denver TC (DTC) is sponsored by the Runners Roost and based in Denver. We focus on post-collegiate competition on the track with distances from the 200m to the half marathon. Denver Trail Runners is a FREE running group for people who like running trails in the Denver, Colorado area. DTR meets every Thursday evening, year round, at the trails on the west side of town, mostly in the Morrison/Golden area. Over the winter, we may occasionally do an urban, non-trail run, depending on weather/trail conditions.
