Rescue Run 5K/10K
1 January 2008 (Colorado Springs, CO) - 10:00 AM
On January 1st, 2008, a New Years running tradition will
continue in Colorado Springs with the 30th running of the
Rescue Run. This event features a 5K and 10K on challenging
courses in Palmer Park, with some spectacular panoramic views
of Pikes Peak and the Front Range mountains.
All proceeds of the event go to the El Paso County Search &
Rescue, an all-volunteer organization that performs search &
rescue operation in the area. If a hiker gets lost or injured
on Pikes Peak, it's the Search & Rescue folks that go in and
find them. When blizzards hit the region, Search & Rescue also
helps with stranded motorists. The race motto is "Rain, Snow
or 20 below" and all of those weather conditions have occured
for this event, which is just the way the Search & Rescue folks
like it.
Join us and be part of the tradition on New Years Day.
