286 people start out from Center Village at Copper Mountain in the 2007 US Half Marathon, 12K, and 5K. Starting at an elevation of 9,800 feet and climbing to 10,500 feet, this half marathon may be the highest paved half marathon in the country, if not the world. Paul Brett of nearby Silverthorne and Tanya Poel of Boulder were victorious in the half marathon, running 1:27:15 and 1:33:55.
