
Gates, Lundy Victorious At USATF National Trail Running Championships in Steamboat Springs

Runners start up the climb from the bast of Mt. Werner in
Steamboat Springs at the 2007 USATF Trail Running
Championships. The course was a two loop course, consisting of
an 1,100 foot climb in 1.7 miles followed by a 2.0 mile drop
back down to the base of the ski mountain.
Ricky Gates of Boulder won the USATF National Trail Running
Championships in 51:42, an average of 6:50/mile on the
mountainous trial course.
Simon Gutierrez of Alamosa was a close second in 51:43.
Defending champion Clint Wells of Boulder was third in 51:49.
Christine Lundy of Sausalito, CA was the female champion,
crossing the line in 59:29.
Laura Haefeli of Del Norte was second in 1:00:07.
Emily Mortensen of Alamosa was third in 1:01:08.
