1. 841 runners start their journey from the Pepsi Center in the First Annual Arby's Rocky Mountain Half Marathon.

2. Julius Kibet, a kenyan living in West Chester, PA, made the trip to Denver and came away with a win and $5000. Julius was obviously not affected by Denver's thin air as he ran away from Albuquerque's Gilbert Koach to run in 1:04:56 to 1:05:11.

3. Luminita Talpos led Boulder's forigen invasion of the Half Marahton with her win in 1:16:50. She also picked up a $5000 check for her efforts.

4. Lidia Simon of Boulder finished a close second in 1:17:02, good enough to earn $3500.

5. Boulder's mountain specialist Anna Pichrtova finished a close third in 1:17:10, earning $2500.

6. 364 women also participated in the Luna Women's 8K, run in conjunction with the Arby's Rocky Mountain Half Marathon.

7. Boulder's Heather Fredriksen cruised to victory in the women's 8K, crossing the line in 32:01.

8. Thornton's Kara Ford finished a close second in 32:20.

9. Denver's Colleen Perkins finished third in the 8K in 33:57.
