1. Volunteers get people registered at the first race in the Pikes Peak Road Runners Winter Series. This event consisted of a 5K and 10K run on trails.

2. Runners gather at the snow covered trails of Fox Run Park in Monument.

3. And they're off! Runners being the 5K at this very well known winter series event.

4. Adam Rich of Colorado Springs (front) and Jason Hubbard of Alamosa battle for the lead in the 5K. Hubbard would eventually pull away for the win.

5. A group of runners make their way along in the 5K.

6. All most eveyone else in this event is wearing hats, gloves, long sleeves, and pants. Isn't it a little cold for this outfit?

7. Finishing strong is the Pikes Peak Winter Series #1.
