Boulder, CO - November 26, 2007 - Gemini Adventures announces its newest adventure: Mountain R.A.T.S., a four-day, expedition length trail race, July 31 - August 3, 2008, through the northern Rocky Mountains - starting and ending in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Mountain R.A.T.S. (Race Across the Summits) will connect almost a hundred miles of trail (exact course TBA) in one of the most stunning backdrops. Runners will traverse alpine ridges, aspen groves and rugged canyons on their way to completing the first annual Mountain R.A.T.S.

"We've taken the stage race format we've used successfully at the Desert R.A.T.S. and applied it to a mountain course. Instead of the challenge of the heat and sand of the desert, runners will face the altitude and rapidly changing weather of the mountains," says Reid Delman, Adventure Director and founder of Gemini Adventures.

Mountain R.A.T.S. runners will carry all their food and gear on their backs as they run. Gemini Adventures provides tents and hot and cold water, and transports runners' sleeping bags to each stage, but each runner will need to plan carefully as they fill their packs, being careful to carry only the most essential gear.

Desert R.A.T.S.(Race Across the Sand), is a 6-day, 148-mile stage race between Fruita, CO and Moab, UT. Runners cope with heat, wind and long distances but are required only to carry minimal safety gear, and the food and water they will need between aid stations, which are placed at 5 to 15 mile increments along the course. Gemini Adventures transports runners' personal gear and provides hot breakfasts and dinners, along with lunches and snacks throughout the day.

"By adding Mountain R.A.T.S. to our annual calendar, we're satisfying our runners' diverse running interests. Now they can face a desert challenge in June, a mountain challenge in July, or both for the ultimate challenge," says Delman.

Racers' times from each of the four days will be added together. The racer with the lowest overall time will be the winner. "The winner will have a combination of speed, patience and meticulous planning. But regardless of who wins the event, it's sure to be a great race to watch and a challenge for all who enter."
