Blake Heren of Boulder blasts down the final hill of the Leadville Trail Marathon in route to a commanding victory. His time of 3:51:50 was 13 minutes faster than the next finisher.

Lynette Clemons of Cripple Creek was the first female to finish the marathon, running 4:34:13.

Jason Koop of Colorado Springs (left) and Jeff Beuche of Denver battle for third and fourth place over the final mile. Jason would pull away in the end, crossing the line in 4:12:10 to Jeff's 4:12:30.

Runners enjoyed the scenery of the old mining heritage of Leadville throughout the race. From the summit of Mosquito Pass (the turnaround point at 13,100') they also enjoyed outstanding vistas of Colorado's two highest peaks, Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, along with Turquoise Lake to the west of Leadville.

Joseph Manilafashia of Denver was the winner in the Heavy Half Marathon (about 25K). This race went from downtown Leadville to the summit of Mosquito Pass and back, bypassing the circumnavigation of Ball Mountain that the marathon runners did. Joe's winning time was 2:13:00.

Emily Brzozowski of Colorado Springs was the first female finisher in the Heavy Half Marathon, running 2:25:00.
