1. Kevin Gallagher of Denver wins the KUVO Labor Day Race In The City, running 17:54 for the 5280 meter course around Washington Park.

2. Bridget MacKinnon of Denver is the first female in 20:55. This was not your typical Washington Park race as the start was in the northwest corner and the runners ran counter- clockwise around the inner road of the park.

3. Pete Mang of Denver wins the 55-59 age group in 22:19.

4. Kasandra Robbert of Littleton runs an impressive 29:31 for sixth in the 30-34 age group. She had just finished thru hiking the Appalachian Trail a couple weeks before.

5. As a beer lover, I was glad to see that the Steamworks Brewing Company in Durango was a sponsor this year. Why? Because in my humble opionion, they have some of the best beer in the state. And with a slogan like "Kick Ass, Ice Cold, Rock Solid," they back it up!
