The first wave of the Harvest Moon Long Course Triathlon gets underway at Aurora Reservoir. This 1.2M swim, 56M bike, and 13.1M run was also the Clydesdale & Athena National Championship event.

The second wave the triathlon gets under way.

The third wave of the triathlon waits for thier start time.

Karol Kristov of Boulder heads out of the transition area as the first person onto the bike course. He would finish third overall in 4:14:03.

Overall winner Viktor Zyemtsev of Los Alamos, NM heads onto the bike course. Viktor's winning time of 4:06:48 beat second place by four minutes.

45-year-old Michael Hagen of Colorado Springs finised second in 4:10:40.

Tamara Kozulina of Los Alamos, NM leads eventual winner Amanda Lovato of Boulder onto the bike course. Lovato would use a 1:33:43 half marathon run leg to a convincing 17 minute win in 4:34:44, good enough for 11th overall. Kozulina led coming off the bike, but faded to sixth female on the run.

Erika Binger of Minneapolis, MN was the tird female onto the bike course. What is amazing is that she was competing in the Athena National Championships, in which she finished a close second to Molly Holmberg of Boulder in 5:27:16 to Molly's 5:25:34.

49-year-ols Ellen Hart of Denver has made a successful transition into the multi-sport arena, finishing as the third female in 4:52:28 (only one minute behind seoncd place finisher Danielle Kehoe of Arvada, who is 29 years younger!).
